I joined Randi’s inaugural LeapDive Shamanic Retreat in 2024. I just knew it was important for me.
Now in reflection of the retreat, I witness my egoic self going on a “cause and effect” roadtrip. It loves to make things straight, linear, and explainable through past experiences, through memory. Nothing wrong with it most of the time, but it’s just not the whole enchilada – there’s more to it, way more.
A lot of things – which I could put like beads on a string – happened since the retreat and my life did change significantly. All caused by the retreat? The very essence of the change busted that idea.
What then did the retreat do?
I’d call it the spark plug to the vast world “beyond” the one we usually operate in. It’s a little bit like living comfortably in the rather limited world of Newtonian physics and suddenly being propelled into a quantum physics reality. And yes, that opened up some very unexpected possibilities, like harvesting the energy of anger or frustration to manifest a true desire of the heart.
After the realization (the leap) comes the actualization (the dive), to more and more living from this actualized place, in our ordinary world. So the essence of the retreat isn’t to hand you more beads you can string up, but to let go of the constraints of who you are allowed to be and what’s possible.
For me, the actualization culminated in becoming a steward of the land at Terra Nova (where the retreat is held) in May 2026. A huge transition which certainly needed a spark to become reality.
